So, back in March, a beautiful family asked me to do their family photos. And so I did. And then, I don't know exactly WHY, but I never got around to blogging their photos! So here they are. Better late than never, right?

Baby Ballerina

So I haven't updated this in a while, so I decided to add a few baby portraits of the adorable Addie Gleason. We were lucky enough to catch her in a VERY happy mood, so this shoot was SO fun. I also got to try out my new lens! I love the way it made the photos look. Go ahead, you know you want to take a gander... :D

How Many Balloons Would it Take to FLY???

On this one, one of her balloons had just popped--which she was surprisingly calm about. So I told her to look like she was sad about the balloon, and this is what she came up with. What a little actress!

What do you get when you put 2 models, 5 photographers, and some incredible backgrounds and props together? I'd like to call it The Great Saltair Shoot--some of the coolest photos I've ever taken. Next time, however, I'm going to have to remember to dress warmer! Kudos to our models Angie and Violetta for suffering through the cold, wet, and windy conditions! Thanks for being the beautiful (and photogenic) people you two are!

No, it isn't deja vu--it actually is the same location as the last post! This time, as I shot with the Cook family, there was never a dull moment! This was mostly due to Aria, the adorably dimpled, energetic child, whose constant movement made it difficult to even snap a picture! Fortunately, however, we finally ended up with some awesome shots. And here they are!

Ben and Mary got experimental with me as we tried new lenses, new locations, and new heights--literally! For the second half of the shoot, we stood on a 12 ft high building, just to get the perfect rustic backdrop for this awesome couple. The brick building behind them was an old, condemned building that was all but crumbled to pieces. Loose bricks covered the ground, windows were shattered to bits; only the pigeons and a lonely old piano on the second story now call this place home. Take a look:

Meet the Wintertons - a fun-loving bunch with a brand new addition to their clan. Adopted into their family in September 2009, Chase is an adorable two year-old with captivating eyes and a sweet and calm disposition. The Wintertons feel so blessed to have Chase in their lives, and I'd say he's pretty lucky to have such a wonderful and loving family to raise and love him.

As I went through and edited the photos, I noticed Chase's facial expressions drastically change in a matter of just a few photos. See for yourself:

Stacie I would like to give you a special shout out and let you know that you are the best, most lovable, most BEAUTIFUL cousin in the whole wide world! And you have a stinking cute fiance and son! I am still laughing about the whole "IHOP incident" with the hot chocolate...good times, good times. :)

The Delicious Taste of Freshly Fallen Snow...

Meet Swayze, Lance, Avaney, Kanvas, and Hudsyn--a gorgeous (obviously!) and fun family with LOTS of smiles to go around! (Especially with the oldest, Avaney--she wouldn't stop smiling, even if I wanted her to!) Kanvas (the adorable blond-haired boy) most of the time was much too fascinated with the delicious taste of the freshly fallen snow to even notice the camera clicking in his face. And when Hudsyn (the youngest) lost her balance and fell over, catching herself with her hands, she calmly yet concernedly held her snow-covered hands out and just said "Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch." Like, "this hurts, but I don't know why, and I don't know what to do about it." :) It was too cute.

So Swayze, Lance, thanks to both of you for giving me the opportunity to capture this beautiful time in the lives of each of your children, as well as your family's life. And to everyone else...

Cari and Sean! You two totally rocked the house--not only were you guys absolutely brilliant in front of the camera when we were shooting at the temple, but your reception was off the hook! Everybody was dancing like crazy and having a good time--you guys really know how to throw a party! Anyways, I've been really enjoying editing your photos; here is a little preview of what I've got finished so far...Enjoy!

All Grown Up!

There are times I don't even realize how grown up my five year-old sister Makela has gotten until I whip out the ole' Nikon and take her picture. She just looks so old to me--like I could blink and she'll be 15! ...Lets hope it takes longer than that--I'm still so enjoying the hugs and kisses hello and goodbye, the sweet things she says and does, and the innocent way she always makes us laugh without even intending to.

So this was a bit of an impromptu photoshoot, and although her hair wasn't combed and there was chocolate on her face, if I had asked her to comb her hair or wash her face, I could have kissed my opportunity at a photoshoot goodbye (she can be a little moody). But I feel that I have captured the essence of her--she isn't the cleanest child in the world, and her hair certainly isn't perfectly brushed and styled every day--but that is what makes her our little Makela. She's more of a hippie than anything else. Enjoy.

PS - this face is a total "me" face! She gets this one from me! I'm so proud! (lol)

With this one, don't ask. I think she runs out of ideas for poses, and this is all she comes up with. Its adorable.

The Reception

Ok I just have to tell you about this little guy--I went up to him, because, obviously, he's adorable...

My first impression was "WOW! Look at those eyes!"

All of the sudden, without any warning at all, he flashed the BIGgest, TOOTHLESSest, most ADORABLE grin I have ever seen! He looks like a handsome young man with no teeth!

So thats it on my spotlight on this little guy...he's going to be a heartbreaker when he's older!

Her two wonderful and amazing parents, Jardin and Ashley Gleason are so blessed to have such a happy and healthy baby. She is absolutely darling, and so happy all the time! Smiles all around!

Ben, or Dimples for Short...

The name is Ben Coles. We shot these for a variety of reasons, one of them being that he desperately needed a really good Facebook profile photo! My photographer friend Katy Ives (http://katyivesphotography.blogspot.com/) and I decided to take Ben and Nathan (her husband) on this little shoot, experimenting with a couple different locations, Alpine and American Fork, Utah.
